Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)

Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association, EAGALA- EAP incorporates horses experientially for emotional growth and learning.  Clinicians in IHT are trained in several modalities of EAP (equine assisted psychotherapy) such as EGALA, mounting and non-mounting Natural Lifemanship, both of these organizations most often identify with an equine specialist and a mental health professional, EAP. EAL, equine assisted learning, is administered by an equine specialist. As clients move into the intense healing regiment, horses have proved to help processing in an extremely healthy and enjoyable way while learning more about themselves during this healing process. Participants will each have 5 (60-90 minute) small-group sessions, and Graduation Day can include a “Family Session” for participants with their support persons if desired.

Neuroscience and Brainwave Feedback

A non-invasive, computer-guided method during which impaired brainwave activity is identified and then restored to its optimal ability.  Over the course of the week, each participant will have 5 or more (90-minute) individual sessions.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.)

A.R.T. is an evidence–based psychotherapy that fosters rapid recovery by reprogramming how the brain stores traumatic memories and imagery. A.R.T. has roots in and includes elements of existing evidenced-based modalities. The treatment program incorporates memory visualization techniques that are enhanced by the use of horizontal eye movements, as well as memory reconsolidation, a way in which new information is incorporated into existing memories.

Emotional Link

The science is established, emotions are linked to the majority of illness. With emotions being the starting point for illness, we spend most of our time focusing on pills, genetics, and treatments to resolve illness. The cycle of trying harder with different or more pills or treatments stops now, with learning the Emotion-Link and doing the Ultimate Exercise.
Two things are certain: Our mind & body are connected, and epigenetics is of more significant influence than genetics. Our nervous system connects our brains, endocrine system, and immune system to each cell in our body. This connects to our behavior, feelings, emotions, and personality that triggers an immune response. Connect this with the nervous system storing and organizing buried feelings, and you have the Emotion-Link. Participants will attend 1 hours of Emotional Link therapy daily, 5 days per week.

Diaphragmatic Breathing Exercise And Mindfulness (DBEM)

Clinicians have been trained and experienced breathing techniques such as Wim Hof, Power breathing and Soma breathing / meditation all focusing on diaphragmatic breathing and deep healing. HIIT (high intensity interval training) consist of short bursts of exercise followed by breathwork between 3 sets. Studies show this practice to be especially beneficial for people not accustomed to exercise regimens and/or those over 40 years of age. We find that this type of breathing and exercise combination allows clients to develop a mindfulness / meditation practice much easier.  Participants will attend one hour of DBEM therapy per day 5 days per week.
